They headlined the Burnt Oak Festival in London. This was filmed and a DVD from this concert will be released as part of bonus material when their back catalogue is re-released.
In 2008 they started recording a new album entitled Circus of Fools but re-named “Hard Graft” from the title track of the album.
Two weeks after finishing the album Tim Rice Williams died of cancer. He was an exceptional musician and composer and one of Huw & Marion’s closest friends for more than 30 years. The album is dedicated to him. His biography is included on another page. The album release was delayed because of this.
Originally recorded at Mill Hill Studios it was bought down to Poole late 2008 to do final mixing. There were problems in the transfer of digital data and a lot of Huw’s guitar & vocal work had to be recorded again. By a miracle Tim’s work was still all there but Marion & Huw were still hesitating over the release. They wanted to do something for cancer patients. This actually became the catalyst to Huw and Marion’s work with the Killing Cancer Charity. Not forgetting Richard Gillespie’s and Volker Von Hoff’s tremendous support in this project.
Richard had suggested contacting Universities to run an animation competition with a 2-minute edit of one of the songs on the album “The Landlord”. Marion approached David Longman, Chairman of the Killing Cancer Charity suggesting we release and dedicate this single from the album to the charity. The idea was to run the animation competition after release of the single to produce an 'animated DVD of the 8 top finalists’.
David liked the idea but came back and said no “The Landlord” wouldn’t work. He needed us to write a song specific to their campaign to bring the Photo Dynamic Therapy (PDT) cancer treatment into NHS. Huw and Marion were horrified at first. However Huw and Marion wrote the track ‘PDT-Photo Dynamic Therapy’and LLG recorded it in the Poole Studios on the weekend. The single was released as a digital download by Cherry Red Records in September 2009. All proceeds go directly to Killing Cancer.
The animation competition deadline was 8th March 2010 to submit entries. Screening and Awards day took place in London at Frontline Club on 13th March. Full details of this campaign are under the Killing Cancer section on this site.
Thus Huw’s LLG long awaited album is now scheduled for release in the Summer 2010.

Following release of the album dates will be scheduled for LLG in UK.
