Due to their nature each and every live album is unique to the band and also the venue and audience. Many other factors play their part but I am sure that you get the gist of this.

This album by Huw and Lloyd Langton Group is truly one of a kind, recorded in a marquee privately hired to celebrate Huw’s friend Maria’s recovery from cancer, this gig was a very personal one for Huw & LLG and from what I have been told, was one of the most enjoyable and well organised gigs that Huw & LLG have ever done. This limited edition (200 copies) double CD captures the atmosphere of the entire gig by being recorded live direct from the desk. The sound quality is not studio quality but captures the
audiences enthusiasm and LLG’s fantastic input.

As this gig has been recorded directly from the desk onto a double CD there are no gaps between the tracks. There is just one track on each disc. Disc one is about sixty minutes long and disc two is about forty nine minutes long. The fact that it not studio quality does not matter one little bit, the ambiance and atmosphere which is captured by this double disc is simply incredible. As you listen to this album you will find yourself transported directly into the audience. Live In Gravesend is an absolute gem of an album and I recommend it highly. Along with the Lloyd Langton tracks there are a couple of  songs dedicated to Hawkwind and an absolutely brilliant cover of Smokestack Lightening, dedicated to Howlin’ Wolf.
